How to Create a Bar Chart of Size by Deal Type
Bar charts are an effective way to visually compare deal sizes across different deal types. This type of chart can help you quickly identify which deal types contribute the most to your pipeline, aiding in decision-making and resource allocation. Follow the steps below to create a bar chart that displays the total deal size for each deal type.
Visualization Example::
Steps:
From the Explore menu, choose Pipeline Deals.
Under All fields on the left side, click Deal to expand more options. Then select Deal Type.
Next, we'll create the measure "Sum of Size ($m)". To do this:
n the Field Picker section, locate the field Size ($m) under Deal. Click the three dots next to this field and select Aggregate > Sum. This action will create a measure called "Sum of Size ($m)" and automatically add it to the visualization.
Click the cog icon next to the "Sum of Size ($m)" measure and select Edit.
In the pop-up screen, navigate to the Field Details tab. Click the drop-down menu under Default formatting and select U.S. dollars if applicable. Click Save once finished.
Click the Run button at the top right to generate your report.
In the Visualization pane, select Bar Chart as the visualization type.
To add value labels to your chart, click Edit > Values and toggle Value Labels on.
By following these steps, you'll create a bar chart that effectively visualizes the total size of deals by type, allowing for easier comparison and analysis of your pipeline data.
