How to Create a Scatter Plot to show the Ratio of Size and EBITDA

A scatter plot is an excellent tool for visualizing the relationship between two numerical variables, such as Deal Size and EBITDA. This chart helps you quickly identify patterns, correlations, or outliers in the data. For example, you can see if larger deals generally have higher EBITDA, or if there are outliers where a smaller deal still yields high profitability. This can guide strategic decisions, such as prioritizing deals with specific size-to-EBITDA ratios.

Visualization Example:

Steps:

From the Explore menu, select Pipeline Deals.
In the Field Picker section, select the following fields under the Deal view:
Size ($m)
EBITDA ($m)
Click the Run button at the top-right to generate the report.
In the Visualization Pane, select Scatter Plot as the chart type. You can swap the X and Y axes as needed to explore different perspectives on the data.

By following these steps, you’ll create a scatter plot that effectively visualizes the relationship between Deal Size and EBITDA, helping you better analyze deal profitability and make informed business decisions.
