How do I enrich my pipeline?

Set up Apollo or PitchBook data enrichment and fill in company details on your deal cards.

Data enrichment fills in company details on your deal cards, such as industry, employee count, revenue and website, from one of two providers:

PitchBook

Only one provider can be active at a time, and each provider has its own field mapping. Enrichment works in the pipeline, not inside rooms.

Every deal card has a Company Domain field in the top field group. Apollo uses it to match the company.

Enrichment is one-way: DealRoom pulls company data from the provider and doesn't send your DealRoom data to it. Apollo returns publicly available company data from its own database. PitchBook data is requested with your API key, so what you can pull and how much you can request depend on your agreement with PitchBook.

Choose a provider

  1. Go to Pipeline Settings and select Data Enrichment in the upper navigation.

  2. Select Apollo or PitchBook as the active provider.

  3. Follow the setup steps for that provider below.

Set up Apollo

  1. In Pipeline Settings > Data Enrichment, with Apollo selected, click Configure.

  2. In the panel that opens, map your deal card fields to Apollo fields. Your fields are in the left column; pick the matching Apollo field from the dropdown on the right. For example, your "Website" field may map to Apollo's "Website URL". All Apollo fields are listed at the end of this article.

  3. Click Save.

Only mapped fields are enriched. Unmapped fields are left as they are.

Set up PitchBook

Before you start

  • You need a PitchBook API key with access to PitchBook's CRM integration. This is not part of every PitchBook subscription, and is controlled by your PitchBook account team. DealRoom can't provide PitchBook keys or trials.

  • Your key's data access decides which fields can be filled. If your key doesn't include a data set, such as financing, those fields stay blank.

  • There's no additional DealRoom cost to use PitchBook—we just provide the plug-and-play integration.

Connect PitchBook

  1. In Pipeline Settings > Data Enrichment, select PitchBook and open its setup.

  2. Enter your PitchBook API key.

  3. Map your deal card fields to PitchBook fields, the same way as for Apollo. PitchBook's mapping is separate from Apollo's. All PitchBook fields are listed at the end of this article.

  4. Click Save.

If your key is invalid or has expired, enrichment stops and you'll see "Invalid or expired PitchBook API key." Enter a current key in the PitchBook setup to continue.

Enrich a new deal

  1. In the pipeline, click New Deal.

  2. Select a company. Company profile details fill in from the active provider. With PitchBook, pick the company from the PitchBook search results; that links the deal to the PitchBook company.

Enrich an existing deal

  1. Open the deal card.

  2. Click the three dots in the upper navigation of the card.

  3. Select Enrich Record.

With PitchBook, this works only for deals linked to a PitchBook company.

Enrich all deals in bulk (Apollo)

Bulk enrichment is available with Apollo only. With PitchBook, enrich deals one at a time.

Enrichment can't be undone. Check that you want to change data across your pipeline before you start.

  1. Go to Pipeline Settings > Data Enrichment.

  2. Click Bulk Enrich.

  3. Choose whether to fill blank fields only or replace existing data with Apollo values.

  4. Click Start Bulk Enrichment.

A green banner at the bottom of the page confirms the enrichment finished.
