What are the types of notifications?


Types of Notifications


DealRoom provides various types of notifications to keep you informed about important activities and updates within the platform.


Tip: Each user sets their own notification frequency. You can adjust the frequency and type of email notifications you receive in the User Settings. See this article: How do I adjust my email notifications?


Notifications for Assignees, Reviewers, and Followers


As an assignee, reviewer, or follower, you will receive notifications for the following events:

  • A comment is made
  • The request status is changed
  • A dependent task is completed
  • When start dates and due dates are changed
  • When a request has been reviewed
  • When another assignee, reviewer or follower is added
  • Reminders to complete or review a request
  • Alerts that a task is due (the day before, day of, and day after)

Other types of notifications


In addition to the notifications mentioned above, DealRoom offers the following types of notifications:

  1. Upload Notifications: You have the option to notify selected groups when documents are uploaded to the Virtual Data Room (VDR).
  2. Location-based Login: You will receive a notification when you log in from a new location.



Immediate Notifications


Some notifications are sent out immediately, including:

  1. Making an Announcement: Admins can do this using the Create announcement button within the notifications tab on the left side of the screen.




  1. Using the Remind feature: Assignees and Reviewers can be reminded about task. To do this, open a request, hover over the right section of their name and select the bell icon button. Another option is selecting tasks in bulk and clicking the Remind option from the top bar. This will send out an immediate notification to the parties involved.


Tracking Activity in the Audit Log


If you need to track specific activities or access a detailed report of all activities in DealRoom, as an admin you can also utilize the Audit Log.


To access the Audit Log:

  1. Navigate to the Reports tab at the top.
  2. Select Audit Log from the left menu.
  3. Choose a date range to narrow down the results.
  4. Use the Activities dropdown to select the specific activity you want to track or generate a report on.
  5. Optionally, you can filter the results by selecting a specific user or group from the Users dropdown.
  6. To export the information to an Excel file, click on the Export to Excel option located in the top right corner of the page.
