Where to find this setting
1. Go to Settings → Permissions Tab (on the top) → Select a group from the left panel.
2. Click the Data Room tab.
3. Scroll to the "Dataroom tab visibility" section.
4. Check "Hide the Dataroom tab for this group" and save.
What changes for that group
Once enabled, members in that group will no longer see the Data Room tab in the top navigation. If they try to navigate to it directly via URL, they are automatically redirected to Requests.
What does NOT change
File access is unaffected. This setting does not change what files the group can view, download, or edit. Use the File Access settings on the same page to control that.
Uploads via Requests still work. Members can continue to upload and download files through Requests and task attachments.
Notes
This setting is not available for the Administrators group. Admins always have full access to all tabs.
The setting is per-group. You can hide the Data Room tab for some groups while leaving it visible for others.
