How do I renumber or reorder files in the Data Room?

In this article, we'll cover:
How to renumber or reorder files in the Data Room
How to reset the list without alphabetical letters

Changing the Order of Files in Your Data Room

Navigate to the Data Room tab from the top menu.
Look for the Edit Index icon on the top right.

Upon selecting, you will see the Edit Index window. You'll be presented with a grid that allows you to re-number your files in any way you want.

You can do two things:

You can arrange the index by enumerating them in the New Index.

Or, you can also use your mouse which would turn into a four-arrowed cursor to drag and drop the Index into its new arrangement.

Resetting the List Without Alphabetical Letters

To reset the list without using alphabetical letters, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Settings tab located at the top of the screen.
Scroll down until you find the Request Sequencing option and enable it.

A new window will appear. In this window, assign a two-letter prefix to each list, such as AA, BB, CC. Click the Enable button. This will assign the chosen prefix to the beginning of each list, followed by a sequential number. For example, the lists will appear as AA-1, AA-2, BB-1, BB-2.

Once you have completed the prefix assignment, disable the feature. As a result, the ID numbers will be reset and continue sequentially without the prefix, starting from 1, 2, 3, and so on.
