Why is my request import failing?

If you see the error message "Requests were not imported" when uploading an Excel file, it may be caused by several issues. This article explains the common causes and how to resolve them.

Common Reasons for Import Failures

Worklist Name Mismatch
  • The worklist name (tab name) in your Excel sheet does not match an existing worklist in the platform.
  • How to Fix: Adjust the tab name in your Excel file to match the exact worklist name in the platform. For example, if the worklist is called "Integration Tasks," ensure the tab in your Excel sheet is also named "Integration Tasks."

Duplicate Requests
  • The requests you are trying to import already exist in the system. The platform will not import duplicates.

Modified Template
  • The first row of the Excel template, which contains column headers used for mapping data, has been changed.
  • How to Fix: Ensure the first row in your Excel file matches the standard import template exactly. Do not change the column names.

Too Many Requests
  • Importing a very large number of requests at once (hundreds or thousands) can cause the process to time out.
  • How to Fix: Split your Excel file into smaller files and import them one at a time. This allows the platform to process the requests more efficiently.

Pipeline Import Issues
  • If you are importing a pipeline, ensure the deal title does not start with a number.

Tip: If your worklist imports successfully but does not appear in the application, refresh your browser and the room should populate.
