How do I use dynamic start and due dates?

How to Use Dynamic Start and Due Dates

Planning for integration is crucial, but it becomes challenging when the closing/signing date is uncertain. That's where our solution comes in: Dynamic Start and Due Dates.

Save Time and Effort with Dynamic Dates

Dynamic dates eliminate the need for manual calculations and adjustments, saving you hours of laborious work. With just a single click, you can automate the entire process and ensure your timelines are always up to date.

Note: Only users who have access to the pipeline can use the dynamic dates feature.

Setting Dynamic Dates

Setting dynamic dates is a breeze and can be done either individually or in bulk. Here's how to do it:

Navigate to the Requests tab from the top menu.
Select a specific request to open it and click on the plus (+) icon next to either the Start Date or Due Date.

A pop-up calendar will appear. At the bottom, click the button labeled "Set dynamic start date" or "Set dynamic due date".

You can now choose the number of days before or after a specific milestone (e.g., LOI submission, LOI executed, Signing/Close).

Tip: You can create and customize these milestones in the custom fields settings. Any custom field that has a date is selectable. See this article: How do I create custom fields?

Once your dynamic dates are set, they will automatically adjust based on changes to the milestone dates. Whenever a milestone date changes, all linked dynamic dates will be updated accordingly.

Unlinking Dynamic Dates: If a date is manually changed by any user the dynamic link will be broken.

This flexibility and automation allow you to stay agile and adapt to evolving timelines effortlessly.

Example

Here's an example of tasks with dynamic start and due dates in relation to the "Signing/Close" milestone. We've set the dynamic start dates of 4 tasks to start 10 Days after the Signing/Close date. We've also set the dynamic due dates to start either 30 or 45 days after the Signing/Close date.

Now that we know the official Signing/Close date, let's set it. Simply select the deal card in the pipeline and click on the corresponding custom field/milestone.

In this example, we set the date to July 28th, 2023. Now, the dynamic dates set for the requests will be populated with the correct dates.

It's that simple!

Boost Efficiency with Templates

And what's more? If you've created a dynamic setup that works well for your deals, you can leverage this feature further by copying the room or exporting it as a template. This way, you can apply your optimized planning process to future deals with ease, saving even more time and effort.

By utilizing Dynamic Start and Due Dates, you can supercharge your planning efficiency, increase accuracy, and ensure seamless coordination across your projects. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to our support team.
