How does the Q&A function work?

Using Requests for Q&A in DealRoom

The Requests feature in DealRoom provides a convenient way to engage in Q&A discussions within your project or deal. This feature allows you to ask questions, seek clarifications, and receive responses from team members and stakeholders.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use Requests effectively for Q&A purposes:

Submitting a New Question

Access your DealRoom project and navigate to the Requests tab.
Click on the blue New request button in the upper right corner to create a new question.

In the request form, select a category and provide a clear and concise title that describes your question.
Enter the details of your question in the description text box. Be specific and provide any necessary context to help others understand your query better.
If applicable, you can attach relevant files or documents to support your question.

Once you are ready, click Create to post your question.

Monitoring and Responding to Existing Questions

As other team members or stakeholders respond to your question, you will receive notifications within the DealRoom platform or via email, depending on your notification settings.

To view responses and updates, go to the Requests tab and locate your request or question in the list.
Click on the request to expand the thread and view all the responses.
Read through the responses carefully and consider the provided information or suggestions.
If you have further questions or require additional clarification, you can respond directly within the thread by leaving a comment.

Continuously monitor the thread for any new responses or updates.

Tip: To adjust your email notifications, locate your User Profile in the bottom left corner, click User Settings > Email Notifications.

Resolving a Question

Once your question has been adequately answered or resolved, you can mark it as resolved.
Locate your question in the Requests tab and click on it to open the thread.
Review the responses and determine if your question has been fully addressed.
If you are satisfied with the provided information, change the status of the request to Resolved.

The question will be marked as resolved and others will be notified that it has been resolved.

Note: You can always revisit the resolved question later if needed. You can also monitor updates on requests in the Reports tab.

Optionally, if you have a follow up question after a task has been marked Resolved, you can choose to change the status to Reopened. This will notify all parties involved, allowing further collaboration on the request.

Searching for Questions

If you want to search for specific questions or topics within the Requests feature, you can utilize the search functionality:
Go to the Requests tab.
Enter relevant keywords or phrases in the search bar located at the top. The system will display matching questions based on your search criteria.

Click on a question to view the complete thread and responses.

Using the Requests feature in DealRoom for Q&A purposes promotes effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders. It streamlines the process of seeking information, clarifications, and gathering feedback.

If you need further assistance or have additional questions regarding the Requests feature, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.

Happy collaborating in your DealRoom project!
