How to Customize Select Fields with Color

Custom fields let you tailor the platform to your team’s needs and track the deal-specific information that matters most. When using a "Select" field, adding color makes it easier to quickly scan and understand what’s going on—the status, priority, or deal type. It’s a simple way to highlight what matters, spot patterns, and align your team without digging through details. Here's how to add colors to your custom Select field options.

Here's how to add colors to the options within your custom Select fields:

In DealRoom, click Settings in the left-hand menu. Then, go to the Custom Fields tab.

Find the Select type field you want to color-code, then click the Edit Field icon (pencil).

A panel will appear where you can modify the field properties. Under Options, you’ll see the predefined choices for your Select field.

Click the box next to the option text. A color picker will appear—select a color or enter a hex code to assign it.

Assign colors to all options for clarity.

Click Save at the bottom of the panel to apply the color changes

Follow these steps to add color-coding to your custom Select fields in DealRoom and make key information easier to scan and understand.
