What is the difference between a BI Editor and BI Viewer?
Differences between a BI Editor and BI Viewer in DealRoom
DealRoom's BI reporting tool allows you to track critical deal information and create scheduled reports for important stakeholders. Thanks to our partnership with Google Looker, there are two types of licenses available for users: BI Editor and BI Viewer.
- Prerequisite: To view or edit BI reports, a user must have admin access to the pipeline. For those who need to view specific reports without pipeline access (e.g., external stakeholders), we recommend using the schedule reports feature to send reports via email.
BI Editor
A BI Editor can create, edit, and send BI reports within the Reports tab. This role is ideal for users who need to actively manage and disseminate data insights.
BI Viewer
A BI Viewer can view BI reports within the Reports tab. This role is suitable for users who need access to insights and data without the ability to modify or create reports.
Changing a User's BI Access
- Navigate to the Settings tab from the left-hand menu.
- Click the Pipeline Access tab at the top.
- Under the BI Reports Access column, click on a users role to change it.
