How do I upload documents? Can I upload them to a request right away?
How to Upload Documents
There are two ways to upload documents to DealRoom. You can upload directly to a Request and choose the folder it will be placed in in the Data Room tab, or you can upload directly to the Data Room tab and link to a request at a later time.
Uploading to a Request
Click on an existing request.
Inside the request, look for the Upload text.
You can either drag the file into the dropoff box or click on Upload file.
Once you've uploaded your document, you can see them attached to your request right away along with the index number of where this file is physically located in the Data Room.
Uploading to the Data Room
Click the upload button or drag and drop the files or folders you can to upload to the main window on the screen.
You can also drag and drop the folder directly into the Data Room.
The system will ask you to confirm the folder you want to upload this document to and if you would like to attach it to an existing request from the Requests tab at this time as well.
If you are an Admin in the room, it will also ask you to confirm the permissions for groups that will have access to this document.
Once your download is complete, you will be able to see it in the folder you selected to upload to.
If you would like to attach this document to a request at a later point in time, you can do so from the Request itself by clicking on the Request and clicking the Documents+ sign and searching for the document.
Or, if you hover over the document in the Data Room on the far right and select the 3 dots that appear, you can select the Attach to Request option and search for the correct request.
