What is the difference between assignee, reviewer, and follower?
Understanding Assignees, Reviewers, and Followers
Assignees
Assignees are individuals or groups responsible for completing a specific task. Tasks you are assigned will be shown as work you need to complete until the status of the task is marked as resolved. You have the flexibility to assign multiple people or groups to work on the same task simultaneously.
Tip: You can also send reminders to assignees by clicking the text "Remind" next to their name on the task. See relevant articles below for more info.
Reviewers
Reviewers are responsible for evaluating tasks and determining whether they have been completed accurately. When someone is designated as a reviewer, they must mark the task as reviewed to indicate that they have reviewed this task to other users.
As a reviewer, you will find a button labeled "Mark as reviewed" in the upper right corner when you open a task. Simply click the button once you have reviewed the task and any attached documents or comments.
Note: If a task has not been reviewed by a reviewer yet, they will have a yellow hazard triangle next to their name.
Once the task is reviewed, it will turn green, indicating that the task has been "Reviewed." This green check mark will also show up by the reviewers name under the Reviewer section so other users know it has been marked as reviewed by the reviewer as well.
Followers
Followers are individuals who wish to stay updated and receive notifications regarding a task's progress. They will receive notifications when documents are uploaded, comments are made, the task is reviewed, or the status is changed. This feature provides a broader overview of the progress made on any given task.
Tip: To add assignees, reviewers or followers, simply open the task and click the plus icon next to the text.
Bulk Assigning
To bulk assign assignees, reviewers or followers, follow these steps:
Go to the Requests tab from the top.
Select which requests you'd like to bulk assign.
Click + Assign from the top menu.
A new window will pop up. By selecting the drop-down menu, you can choose which role you'd like to bulk assign.
Select which people you'd like to assign as that role.
Optionally, you can check the box that allows you to overwrite existing assignees, reviewers or followers including clearing all existing assignees, reviewers or followers.
Note: If you are trying to assign someone to a request but they can't be selected from the list, it is because their group doesn't have the correct permissions. An admin can update this in the Permissions tab > Requests Permissions.
